Vienna House Thüringer Hof | Eisenach

Between Luther and Bach

The "Vienna House Thüringer Hof Eisenach" in the middle of the historic town centre is the perfect refuge for culture fans and business travellers.

The hotel is located on Karlsplatz square. It looks out over Eisenach's only surviving old town gate, the Nikolaitor. The market square with the Stadtschloss palace, the Lutherhaus or the Bachhaus are all only short walk away. However, the hotel building itself also has a very special charm. From the elaborately decorated art nouveau facade to the precious murals and wood-panelled ceilings and walls in the historic entrance area to typical art deco accessories such as the Tiffany lamps with their artfully designed glass ornaments. The Standard and Superior rooms are furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary pieces. By the way: The Russian author Leo Tolstoy actually slept on these premises in the 19th century.

EXPERIENCE TIP

The historic half-timbered building where the young Martin Luther lived when he was a Latin school student is now called the "Lutherhaus". It houses a museum with a permanent multimedia exhibition about the reformer's Bible translation that has already won several awards.
