Boutique-Hotel Amalienhof | Weimar

Accommodation fit for a duchess

Walk through the elaborately decorated cast iron gates of the boutique hotel "Amalienhof", and you are immediately reminded of the fact that this classicist building has been here since 1826.

You also sleep, dream and reside here as lavishly as in Duchess Anna Amalia's times. In the guest rooms of the restored town house, the classic elegance of Goethe's days has been combined with contemporary elegance in gold and emerald green to great effect. In the morning, a sumptuous breakfast is served in the light-flooded winter garden before you set off to explore the town. The heart of the cultural centre of Weimar is right outside the front door. Even the roof terrace already affords wonderful views across Weimar directly into the garden of the Goethehaus. The Goethe National Museum, Schiller's home and the historic cemetery are also just a stone's throw away. It is particularly important to the hotel's director Claudia Wießner to raise people's awareness of the cultural and creative legacy left by the great women who have lived and worked in Weimar. She therefore offers lovingly arranged tours such as her "Frauenzimmer" tour with the aim of making it easier for her guests to learn more about the clever women of Weimar.
